Hornbach’s “No Project Without Drama” continues its winning streak, taking home the Grand Prix for Production at this year’s Ciclope Festival, alongside multiple wins at the London International Awards (LIA) — including the Grand Prix for Production & Post-Production.
For us at Magic, this one feels special. It’s not just about the trophies — it’s about what they represent: trust, teamwork, and the kind of production where every detail is built, not simulated.
The film, directed by Lope Serrano and produced by Tempomedia with production service by Magic, was an ambitious undertaking from the start.
The set couldn’t fit under one roof — it had to be built across several studios in Vilnius. In total, more than 140 crew members worked on the project, bringing every detail to life through in-camera effects and practical craftsmanship — no AI, no shortcuts. Where most DIY ads promise ease, Hornbach leans into chaos. “No Project Without Drama” turns the struggle of home improvement into an operatic spectacle — complete with a full choir shadowing every hit, splash, and sigh. The result is a piece that feels theatrical, human, and painstakingly hand-built — both in story and production. “Projects like this remind us why we love production,” says Ramojus Petrauskas, Head of Production at Magic.“ Every department had its challenge — scale, timing, precision — but when you see it all come together on screen, you’re reminded how much this industry runs on collaboration and trust.”
Those words ring true, especially when looking back at how No Project Without Drama came together. Tempomedia’s decision to bring the production to Lithuania was an act of trust — one that allowed the project to find its full potential through close collaboration between crews, suppliers, and craftspeople Seeing the work recognized at festivals that celebrate execution and artistry — not just ideas — means a lot. For Magic, it’s a reminder of why production service matters: turning vision into something tangible, something real. “We’re proud to see the work shine internationally, but even prouder to have been part of the team that built it,” adds Aurimas Pukevicius. No AI. No easy way out. Just a lot of hands, a lot of planning — and a little bit of drama.
